6%-6.5% increase in the private sector minimum wage from 1 April 2024 plans the government with the relevant announcements to be expected on Friday 22 March 2024 at the cabinet meeting.
So the new salary will range between 825 and 830 euros from 780 euros today. The beneficiaries are close to 585,000 to 600,000 employees, while the government’s goal is, in a four-year horizon, the minimum wage should rise to 950 euros and the average wage to 1,500 euros.
It should be noted that today the minimum wage amounts to 780 euros and the minimum daily wage to 34.84 euros, while, in the previous period, there were other increases. Specifically, from 650 euros in 2019, the minimum wage increased to 663 euros in January 2022, to 713 euros in May 2022 and, from April 2023, to 780 euros.

In the private sector for employees paid the minimum wage, the three years started counting this year from where they were frozen on February 14, 2012. If someone was hired following 2-14-2012, they start filling following 1-1-2024.
For this year, the number of beneficiaries is not large, only 100,000 people, but following three yearsand their number is estimated to reach 600,000 to 700,000 people. So the full-time employee who will “build” a three-year period in 2024, will receive a 10% increase over 780 euros, i.e. 78 euros per month. Accordingly, the part-time employee with a contract of 390 euros for 4 hours of work will receive, if he has three years in 2024, an increase of 39 euros.
