Stefan Kraft has been the overall ski jumping World Cup winner for almost a week, but the Salzburg man still has nothing to give away at the final in Planica. After seventh place in the individual competition on Friday, the three-way battle for the small crystal ball for the best ski pilot is coming to a head. Before the end of the season on Sunday (9.30 a.m., ORF 1), Kraft feels the breath of Peter Prevc (only 34 points behind).
The 31-year-old Slovenian local hero, who is once once more in top form just before the end of his career, celebrated his first victory in more than four years with distances of 237.5 and 231 meters. “That’s almost cheesy. I thought it would be better for the story if Peter won,” said second-placed Daniel Huber with a wink.
Austria 2716 points ahead of Germany
The 31-year-old from Salzburg laughed easily. After his serious knee injury, he is currently on cloud nine and still has a chance of winning the ball. 47 points can be caught up.
