TASS, March 21. The Georgian team defeated the Luxembourg team with a score of 2:0 in the semi-final playoff match for the right to participate in the 2024 European Championship. The meeting took place in Tbilisi.
Forward Budu Zivzivadze scored two goals (41st, 64th minutes). In the 53rd minute, following the help of the video assistant referee, the goal of Luxembourg striker Gerson Rodrigues was canceled out. 5 minutes later, his teammate, defender Maxim Shano, received a red card.
In the playoff final, which will be held on March 26, the Georgian team will play with the winner of the match between the teams of Greece and Kazakhstan, their match will take place on Thursday in Athens.
12 teams participate in the playoffs, three tickets to the European Championship are up for grabs. The teams are divided into three paths (levels A, B, C), in each of which semi-finals and finals will be played. The Russian team did not take part in the European Championship qualifications.
