Falling electrical cable leaves one dead and nine injured in Ndalatando – Jornal OPaís

One person died and nine were injured, one seriously, due to the fall of a high voltage electrical cable, which occurred on Saturday, in Ndalatando, Cuanza-Norte province. The information was provided this Sunday, in this city, by the spokesperson for the Cuanza-Norte Provincial Command of the Civil Protection and Fire Service (SPCB), Hélder Milagre.

The official told Angop that the incident occurred in the Camunzuzulo neighborhood (on the outskirts of Ndalatando), caused by rain, accompanied by strong winds, which hit the city during Saturday night. As a result, a 14-year-old child died from electrocution at the scene and nine other people were injured.

The injured, including a child with third-degree burns, were transported to the Cuanza-Norte Provincial Hospital, where they are being treated. In turn, the general director of the health unit, Armando Manuel, reported that, of the nine patients transported to that unit, one, with third-degree burns, was transferred to Luanda.

He added, according to Angop, that the others with minor injuries were discharged following receiving first aid. This is the first case of its kind recorded this year in the province. According to the SPCB source, the rain that fell on Saturday, in Cuanza-Norte, affected ten homes in the municipality of Golungo-Alto, leaving 10 families out in the open.
