These products are added to those categories that from March 1 – as announced by the Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas – are included in the intervention that limits the total discounts of suppliers in supermarkets by 30% and transfers the corresponding benefit to the consumer.

In more detail, as stated in a statement by the Ministry of Development, from March 1, 2024, the day the government’s measures to deal with punctuality begin, 4,014 consumer goods of basic categories have reduced initial prices that vary on average by 15-17%, while especially for the initial prices of 100 of menstrual products, as of today, a 17% average weight reduction is recorded.

The reductions by brand are as follows:

ALWAYS -17,1%

EVERYDAY -19,1%

FREEDOM -13.3%

SEPTONE -16.0%

“We continue with undiminished determination and intensity the battle to fight the exactness and support all families in Greece with drastic, structural and permanent measures” said the Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas noting that “from today, all consumers will be able to purchase and menstrual products at more affordable prices” and emphasized: “The measures we have taken are starting to pay off, but we are not complacent. Correcting chronic trade distortions aimed at protecting the consumer and further deflating inflation are our key priorities.”
