The seventh Subregional Meeting for the co-creation of the Departmental Development Plan 2024-2027 “Por Antioquia Firme” took place in Eastern Antioquia.
Where crucial issues such as housing, infrastructure, security, environment and attention to gender violence were prioritized by the community.
Governor Andrés Julián Rendón emphasized the importance of addressing the housing challenge.
Thus seeking solutions that prevent the occupation of risk areas and promote the acquisition of own homes through accessible credit.
In the East, the housing deficit amounts to 60 thousand solutions.
Likewise, the Antioquia Housing Company –VIVA- is working on the construction of housing solutions.
In addition to working on structuring strategies to facilitate the financing of housing loans.
The need to improve road infrastructure to connect the 23 municipalities of the subregion was also highlighted.
And facilitate access to roads such as Pacífico 1, Magdalena Medio and Nordeste.
Topics that were addressed as a priority of Eastern Antioquia in the Development Plan
This investment is considered vital to boost economic and agricultural development, as well as promote activities such as ecotourism.
Attention to gender-based violence was also a priority.
Emphasizing comprehensive strategies that promote the economic autonomy of women.
The proposal includes the creation of a Departmental Care System to alleviate the care burden that falls on Antioquia women.
Allowing them to dedicate time to leisure activities and personal development.
Other topics addressed include the fight once morest microtrafficking and extortion, and the strengthening of Community Action Boards.
As well as solid waste management and institutional development of municipalities.
Which will be financed with resources from royalties and international cooperation.
The next subregional meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20 in Medellín.
Thus marking the closing of a day of consultation with the community for the structuring of the Departmental Development Plan.
