Estrella del Pacífico put the ball on the ground, made it rotate and had applaudable individual performances, a formula that allowed it to win the Seniors 35 Night Championship cup, following beating Cato’s brave Nacional team 4 to 1.
The event was organized by the Municipality of Chillán, through the Sports Directorate, and 16 amateur soccer clubs and rural mountain leagues and the western sector of the commune participated.
Pablo Pino, who scored three goals for Estrella, expressed his happiness following winning the championship title and added that it was the first time he played at the Nelson Oyarzún stadium, the venue that hosted the grand final of Night Football. “It’s always nice to win a final, it was difficult for us to get there, but with the whole team we put in a lot of effort and we got the job done, we won, which was what we wanted. This championship is a good initiative, the organization was incredible, everything was beautiful and we enjoyed football, which is what we came for.”
Pablo Concha, Cato’s National coach, gave his opinion along the same lines and was also happy with the second place. “I am proud of my kids and my friends, very grateful for the bar, we are a humble and country club, we did very well, I am satisfied. That they hold these championships is wonderful, since that is how we make ourselves seen, there are also important teams in the field that can compete in Chillán.”
Third place in the Night Championship was Capilla Cox and fourth place was Zaragoza.
