Stefano Bollani returns to tour with the Danish Trio

Stefano Bollani returns to tour, this time recomposing the Danish Trio, with which he has recorded numerous albums and which we also heard in the television episodes of “Via dei Matti n. 0”. Celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the birth of a great opera composer such as Gaspare Spontini are underway in the Marche region; Riccardo Muti gives the go-ahead. In Germany, in Baden-Baden, here is the traditional Easter Festival, with the exceptional presence in the pit of a formation such as the Berlin Philharmonic with its director Petrenko, engaged in Richard Strauss’ “Elektra” and in symphony concerts.

Milano

On the 25th at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi the classic formation of the jazz trio, with Stefano Bollani’s piano, Jesper Bodilsen’s double bass and Morten Lund’s drums. Over the years they have recorded the albums “Mi ordini in mente” and “Gleda”, both released on the Danish label Stunt Records, and “Stone in the Water”, released on the German label ECM. To these must be added “Joy in Spite of Everything” (ECM), with Bill Frisell (guitar) and Mark Turner (sax); “Close to You” (Stunt), featuring singer Katrine Madsen; “Mediterraneo” (ACT) and “The music of Sasha Argov”.

Baden-Baden (Germania)

On March 23-26-31 at the Festspielhaus the opera “Elektra” by Richard Strauss conducted by Kirill Petrenko and the ensemble of which he is director, the Berlin Philharmonic. In the company voices such as Nina Stemme and Elsa van den Heever; the direction is entrusted to Philipp Stölzl and Philipp M. Krenn.

This new production – the only one where Petrenko and his musicians can be heard playing the opera – is part of the Easter Festival, full of symphony concerts with the Berlin formation directed by Petrenko and chamber concerts.

Ascoli Piceno

On the 17th evening at the Ventidio Basso Theater Riccardo Muti with the Cherubini Orchestra opens the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the birth of Gaspare Spontini from the Marche. With the voices of Caterina Sala (soprano), Margherita Maria Sala (contralto) and Lidia Fridman (soprano), arias from the operas “Agnese di Hohenstaufen” and the “Vestale”, together with the “Stabat Mater” by Pergolesi, another great from the Marche region. We remember well S. Ambrogio 1993 when Muti chose “La Vestale” for the inauguration of the Scala.
