US Secretary of Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas will visit Guatemala

The United States Embassy in Guatemala reports that the Secretary of National Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas will visit the Central American country soon.
According to a statement released on March 19, Mayorkas will be in Guatemala from Wednesday, March 20 to Thursday, March 21, 2024.
The Secretary of National Security will meet with President Bernardo Arévalo to participate in bilateral meetings.
“Additional details regarding the press will be announced when available,” the US Embassy in Guatemala said.
The meeting between Mayorkas and Arévalo takes place a day following a US delegation arrived in Guatemala to discuss economic issues with national authorities and sectors of civil society.
Next week, Arévalo will also meet with US Vice President Kamala Harris.
Arévalo and Harris will discuss issues related to irregular migration and the causes of this phenomenon at the White House.
