The Indonesian General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) admitted that it had written to the Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) three times regarding the use of the Recapitulation Information System (Sirekap).

RI Bawaslu member Totok Hariyono said that in the midst of the ongoing recapitulation, he appealed to the KPU to improve its total conversion.

“We sent letters to the KPU three times regarding Sirekap, it was fine to continue, but the addition conversion was stopped because C1 became a matter of debate due to differences,” explained Totok, quoted on Sunday (17/3).

According to him, the applications that the KPU launches must go through a thorough process. Because he considers all these applications to be good tools, but don’t necessarily make everything work twice.

“We have also criticized a lot regarding the KPU application SIPOL (Political Party Information System), SILON (Political Party Information System) so what? So what? Tools should not be a hassle, they should provide enlightenment, which we emphasize,” he said.

He hopes that the KPU, Bawaslu and DKPP will synergize well in their duties and functions. So he added that this election might run transparently, honestly and fairly.

“Let’s work together to make elections more democratic and together maintain better elections in the future,” he said. (Z-3)
