With a special dedication to Luca Bergia, historic drummer and founder of Marlene Kuntz who passed away a year ago, Cristiano Godano, frontman and guitarist of the Piedmontese alternative rock group has announced the start of a tour to celebrate thirty years of “Catartica” , their debut album, with a reissue of the album already available.
The tour is already registering the first “sold outs” for the stops in Rome, Florence, Roncade, Bologna and for the double date in Turin.
The album, released in the spring of 1994, was a milestone in the history of Italian music because it contributed decisively to defining the sound of alternative rock of the nineties: “When the album came out – stated the leader, Godano – for us it was the realization of a dream following years of working in the cellar and apprenticeships. Then we started working hard to ensure that the dream remained a reality as much as possible and, following thirty years, we are here.”
While waiting for the release of the reissue of “Catartica”, available on March 8th in CD and double LP format, both with booklet with unpublished photos and a limited and numbered edition Deluxe Box, and for the start of the highly anticipated tour, Marlene Kuntz have decided to pay homage to their fans with new content.
“End of the dance”
In fact, from February 29th, “Fine della dance” will be available digitally, an unreleased track also contained in the cassette (which is part of the Deluxe Box of the reissue of the historic album) of the highly sought-following Demosioni bootleg; the video for “Swimming in the air” is already available, made with archive images and videos, and the video for “Lieve” will also be available online from March 6th. “I am very proud to have managed to transform this passion into what I care regarding I’m busy in life. I knew how crazy the idea of trying to be a rock musician in Italy was and so having succeeded can’t help but make me proud”, comments Godano, who is echoed by Riccardo Tesio, another founder of the group and producer, who underlined how for the recording of “Catartica” the band gave their all, so much “that we thought we mightn’t do more than that”.
