Islamabad: Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has reportedly turned down an offer to coach the Pakistan cricket team. The board is looking for a top coach following the poor performance of the Pakistan team in recent times. Although Watson was offered a huge salary by the Pakistan Cricket Board, he refused. With this, Pakistan, which was expecting a new coach, has suffered a setback.
Watson has amassed 5,727 runs and 168 wickets in 190 ODIs for Australia. He has scored 3,731 runs and 75 wickets in 59 Test matches. Watson played 58 Twenty20s and scored 1462 runs and took 48 wickets. Watson is now the coach of Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League. Watson also coaches the San Francisco Unicorns in Major League Cricket in America. Watson also does commentary work for Star Sports on Indian Premier League and ICC tournaments.
