Last theme of the 2024 edition of the Limoux carnival, certainly the most magical, thanks to transcended carnival women, this Sunday.
The Sunday public who, from mid-morning, walked the streets of the city center were not mistaken, they were waiting for the stars of this last day of carnival. Announced as the festive highlight, the show promised to be enchanting, and it was. With a large profusion of colors and shapes, childhood characters were gathered on the Place de la République. Nicolas, Pimprenelle, Pinocchio and many others immersed spectators in a nostalgic and wonderful world. Magnificent symbiosis, the Femnas disguised or more precisely transformed for the space of a morning in the enchanted kingdom of the Narwhal fairy.
The magic happens
Everyone, all generations combined, has returned to the world of their childhood. An extraordinary dream masterfully orchestrated by carnival women at the height of their festive art. Each character was itself a fable, a story, a tale. True to their reputation, the care and preparation put into the costumes presented was impeccable. The thousands of eyes that detailed each outfit showed signs of approval. Thus, we discovered the cozy space of the bedroom where the grandmother tells a carnival tale surrounded by attentive children with curly hair. Not far away, friendly protective fairies waved their magic wands in a benevolent gesture. The drums and trumpets of the Femnas join in concert, while the giant rabbit shakes its cymbals, the brass of Pinocchio invites itself among the musicians. The show does not come to an end, it then continues under arcades crowded with spectators who want to prolong the pleasure. The sun is kind, it allows the Femnas to shine in the heart of the Blanquetière city. Magnificent last opus of the 2024 carnival, where the Fécos ladies have put, as usual, so many applications to create a positive animation unlike any other. In the depths of the night, this folk edition will end in ashes. However, there are releases that we would never want to see stop, the release of Femnas is one of them.
