With the continuation of the events of the series “Al-Ataula”, which is shown on MBC Egypt during the month of Ramadan, and the development of the conflict between the two brothers (Nassar) Ahmed Al-Sakka and (Khader) Tariq Lotfy on the one hand and many opponents on the other hand, the follower of the series is still able to capture some of the details that… They can be likened to melodies accompanying the main melody.
In the fifth episode of the series “Al-Ataula,” we had an encounter with one of the stories that was passed down from generation to generation regarding the profession of the Arabji, or the driver of the cart drawn by a donkey, through Nassar’s mockery of “Al-Sabti,” the character played by the artist Ahmed Kishk. .

Ahmed Keshk appeared in the fourth episode of “Al-Ataula” for the first time, in a silent appearance that did not reveal his role in the work, but he reappeared in the fifth episode so that we know that he had recently been released from prison, following serving a three-year sentence, for carrying out a mission on behalf of (Sitrah), Al-Ataula’s mother. , played by Farida Seif Al-Nasr.
In one of the scenes of the episode, Al-Sabti confronts Al-Atawla’s mother, demands that she compensate him, threatens her, and raises weapons in the middle of the neighborhood, but Nassar and Khadr teach him a painful lesson in front of everyone.

After being beaten, Ahmed Kishk receives the necessary first aid at the home of Ahmed Al-Sakka and Tariq Lotfy in the presence of their mother Farida Seif Al-Nasr. Nassar mocks his attempt to appear as a thug in front of them, saying: “I came across Ali Awad.” Who is this Ali Awad and what is his story?

In the thirties of the last century – as the story goes – Ali Awad was one of those who became famous in the Arabji profession, following he was able to form a fleet of carts, and any new Arabji who wished to enter the profession was obliged to apprentice with him and learn the principles and arts of “Shih, Ha, and His.” It is the language exchanged between the Arabji and the donkey, before he begins his work for a small sum of money and receives his donkey from his teacher, Ali Awad.

It is said that this Ali Awad was distinguished by his aggressive personality and insulting the Arabjis who trained under him and sometimes beating them, so that his name turned into a way to ridicule the Arabji and remind him of his humiliating beginning. It is said that this method of mocking the Arabji continued until recently on the lips of the rowdy young boys of the cart driver.

Although Al-Arabji’s profession gradually declined, giving way to modern means of transportation, this story lived on until it was captured by the makers of the film “Ramadan on the Volcano,” released in 1985, starring the great star Adel Imam. The film presented it in a comedic dialogue between (Ramadan) Adel Imam and (Uncle Hilal). Al-Arabji) Hafez Amin, in a scene in which the film’s hero complains regarding his conditions as a government employee, to the point that he thinks regarding working with his uncle Al-Arabji, but all he fears is that people will mock him, saying, “Oh Ali, oh Awad.”
Just as popular legacies are preserved through such stories, popular songs are also considered one of the most prominent means of preserving these legacies, and the “Al-Ataula” series includes many of them, as appeared in previous episodes.
In the fourth episode of “Al-Ataula,” we had an appointment with one of those famous popular songs, the song “A Lost Family, O Sons of Halal” by the great artist Ahmed Adawiya, through a scene in which the artist Safwa appeared inside Al-Ataula neighborhood, to receive her husband (Al-Dakhakhni), Muhammad Najati, tied with ropes. As punishment for corrupting his men, Farah, the sister of Tariq Lotfy and Ahmed Al-Sakka.

As for the fifth episode of “Al-Atawla”, it presented to us a part of Abdo Al-Iskandarani’s Mawal, “O my eyes, my boat in the sea of love is walking and not drowning”, through the scene of the meeting between (Nassar) Ahmed Al-Saqqa and (Hannah) Zeina, who warns him of his fate if he insists on continuing… His criminal activity.
