Yesterday morning, in the city of Lubango, staff from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DIIP) of the National Police Command in Huíla arrested a 29-year-old citizen accused of having committed the crime of sexual rape and attempted rape. of homicide

The crime occurred on the night of the 11th of the current month when the victim, in the company of the accused, was hanging out in one of the alcohol sales outlets, located in the Valódia neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Lubango. According to the head of the Department of Criminal Investigation in Huíla, superintendent Pedro Cassoma, the accused offered to accompany the victim on her way home, to which she agreed.

During the journey, the young man surprised her, tying her with a rope that he had with him. After completing the act of sexual abuse with penetration, explained Pedro Cassoma, the accused, whose identity was not revealed to us, tried to take the victim’s life using a sharp weapon (knife). “On the way, the suspect, who was already carrying ropes, tied her up and took her to a thicket where, under threats, he carried out the illicit copulation, following which he took a knife and slit the victim’s throat,” he said.

Luckily, the young woman was found in the bush, the scene of the crime, by passers-by who took her to the Lubango Central Hospital, where she is being treated. The case was then reported to the National Police, through its Criminal Offenses Investigation Department. Superintendent Pedro Cassoma revealed that the young woman is now out of danger, but continues to receive medical and medication treatment at the aforementioned hospital unit.

The head of the Criminal Offenses Department in Huila revealed that following the accused’s arrest, he confessed to having committed the crime, having claimed that he was not in full exercise of his mental faculties, as he was drunk. “After becoming aware, DIIP carried out work on site that allowed the perpetrator to be determined.

When asked, he admitted responsibility for the crime and claimed that he was drunk and as the victim did not accept it, he preferred to carry out the act. Afterwards, he stabbed her with a knife because she resisted and abandoned her at the scene, thinking she was dead,” he explained. For this reason, Pedro Cassoma informed that the suspect will be presented to the Public Ministry for legal proceedings.
