Did you know that the Côte d’Azur was a springboard for Alain Souchon’s career? “L’Amour 1830” is a romantic ballad that he wrote in the 1970s for Frédéric François. It was then that producer Bob Socquet, artistic director of RCA Records, intervened and fell under the spell of the song and advised Souchon to perform it himself at the Rose d’Or competition in Antibes.
