Innovation and connectivity guide Samsung’s development, which is participating in Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE) 2024, an international event dedicated to the world of HVAC+R, presenting new products and celebrating the latest awards

Samsung Electronics Air Conditioner Europe (SEACE) is participating in the 2024 edition of Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE), which takes place from March 12 to 15 at Fiera Milano (stand 5 P29/T 22), to present product innovations and reinforce its positioning to promote comfort and connectivity in the HVAC+R area. MCE represents a moment for meetings and relationships between professionals and a fundamental opportunity for Samsung to take stock of its portfolio in the area of products and services focused on refrigeration and heating, both in the residential and commercial sectors.

“Samsung’s presence at events such as MCE, which is the main fair of its kind in Europe, shows the strength of our division of products and solutions focused on air conditioning around the world, with a broad and diverse portfolio, capable of meeting different needs and sizes of projects, whether residential or commercial”, highlights Thiago Dias, director of the air conditioning division at Samsung Brazil. According to him, the topic of ‘energy efficiency’ through systems management was once once more one of the main focuses of discussion, that is, there is an effort to popularize and evolve remote monitoring solutions, which allow the identification of problems and the optimization of use of devices.

“We were able to verify that, in some cases, there was a considerable reduction in energy consumption precisely because of solutions of this type. Furthermore, MCE is always a great opportunity to visit strategic customers who operate throughout Brazil and who are present at the fair, partners who will help us in the execution of Samsung’s B2B air conditioning system business, especially in the DVM line. , focusing on the verticals of large construction companies and installers”, adds Thiago.

On the occasion of the start of work at MCE, Ettore Jovane, Head of HVAC Business Samsung Electronics Italia stated: “The year 2023 was, for the market, negative for some product ranges, such as heat pumps, which following several years of growth suffered a sharp slowdown due to the interruption of incentives. Despite this context, like Samsung, we recorded growth, both in relation to the market and the previous year. The factors that allowed us to achieve these objectives were the innovative vision of the product, training and approach to the customer. We are optimistic for the future and expect a strong recovery in line with the objectives defined by the Green Deal and the European REPowerEU program.”

A vast portfolio of products dedicated to comfort

Samsung products bring to light all the technology, innovation and connectivity for home and business environments at the MCE 2024 event. The flagship of the Samsung air conditioning line is WindFree™ technology, which through thousands of micro-holes allows the air spreads evenly, thus avoiding uncomfortable direct wind. The comfort provided by WindFree™ technology is characterized by the ability to achieve the so-called “Still Air”, whereby the speed of the expelled air is less than 0.15m/s1.

WindFree™ technology is present in both residential and commercial products. For the domestic environment, the WindFree™ Connect air conditioning, in Hot and Cold or just Cold versions, with capacities of 9, 12, 18 and 22 thousand BTUS, is one of the most complete devices on the market. At the touch of a button, WindFree mode disperses climate-controlled air through 23,000 micro-holes that eliminate direct cold wind¹, making the environment even more comfortable for you and your family. The device also connects to WiFi and allows you to control energy expenditure with the SmartThings app, through the Energy function, as well as turning it on, off, controlling the temperature and much more in a quick and easy way, using your smartphone or simple voice commands. . Artificial Intelligence resources also allow the model to automatically leave rooms air-conditioned. The AI Auto Cooling function automatically optimizes the various modes by analyzing local conditions and usage patterns. Based on the preferred temperature, it automatically switches to the most appropriate mode to maintain ideal conditions.

Regarding savings and sustainability differences, WindFree™ Connect also puts on a show: the compressor’s Digital Inverter Ultra technology guarantees even better energy efficiency in WindFree mode and can achieve savings of up to 77%2 of energy compared to conventional models. This model also has the maximum rating in energy efficiency – that is, lower energy consumption – in the new Inmetro regulations. The rapid cooling function also makes rooms air-conditioned up to 43% faster3 thanks to the design, which has larger openings and which, combined with the powerful Digital Inverter compressor, can reach up to 15 m of distance in a straight line, in less time.

In addition, Samsung also showcases at MCE the new Touch 2.0 Centralized Control with advanced functions for precise and personalized management of one or more air conditioning systems4, from small systems – such as the brand’s Commercial Light line – to system solutions with variable refrigerant flow from the DVM S2 line. It is worth remembering that WindFree™ is also present in commercial solutions, such as WindFree ™ 1-way and 4-way Cassette.

Moving to solutions dedicated to the commercial market, Samsung offers new generation Digital Variable Multi (DVM) solutions with native artificial intelligence. The range consists of DVM S2 for medium and large sizes, DVM S Water i.e. water cooled units and DVM Chiller hydronic systems. VRF systems are also available in a version with heat recovery, which allows different areas of the building to be heated and cooled simultaneously.

The Samsung connectivity revolution

SmartThings, Samsung’s free ecosystem, lets you manage, schedule and monitor connected devices conveniently and directly from your smartphone and lets you define home scenarios to create automations and daily routines. Air conditioning is no exception to the concept of connectivity, in fact, Samsung was the first company, back in 2013, to integrate Wi-Fi into its products. SmartThings includes five programs: Home Care, Clothing Care, Pet Care, Cooking and Energy to monitor and manage compatible devices to control your consumption and more. For the commercial sector, Samsung offers b.IoT Lite*, an integrated control software that uses IoT technologies and AI algorithms to manage and optimize VRF systems and is ideal for medium and large buildings.

Samsung pre- and post-sales services

For professionals, Samsung also offers personalized support and consultancy: during the project, Samsung performs CFD analysis to study the correct functioning of external units to optimize airflow. Additionally, DVM-Pro 2.0 software allows you to create the layout of hydraulic, electrical and control schemes for Samsung solutions for both residential and commercial purposes.

Giulia Tomaselli, consultant and head of Community Smart Building, The European House | Ambrosetti states: “The Italian real estate sector is old and inefficient and brings with it high economic and environmental costs. Italy spends around 47 billion euros on energy consumption in buildings, which contributes to 18% of the country’s total emissions. In the context of the national and European policy for decarbonization of the buildings sector, made even more of a priority with the goals defined by the “Green Homes” directive, smart technologies can play a fundamental role in promoting the green transition of the sector also through the electrification of consumption Final.”

MCE EXCELLENCE AWARDS and PRODUCT OF THE YEAR AWARD

Samsung’s history has brought countless awards over the years and the MCE 2024 MCE Excellence Awards awarded 6 products, all united by attention to energy saving, innovation, connectivity and performance: the new Hydronic Module*, the new Climate Hub*, EHS R290*, EHS HT Silent*, WindFree™ Elite* and Centralized Control 2.0. Also in 2024, the exclusive and patented WindFree™ air conditioning technology was named 2024 Product of the Year for the air conditioning category5.

The Product of the Year survey is the most important innovation survey carried out in Italy in terms of number of consumers interviewed, with more than 12,000 individuals involved. 64% of respondents selected WindFree™ as the most innovative product in the air conditioning category and of users who tried the product, 94% said they were very satisfied.

With regard to assistance, Samsung was voted number 1 in following-sales service in the “Air conditioning” category according to the “Best in Italy – Service Champions 2024” survey by the German Institute for Quality and Finance (ITQF). An important milestone in a market scenario in which customer service is increasingly valued as an excellent service.
