MEXICO CITY.- Quarterback Russell Wilson will sign with the Steelers. After being released by the Broncos, it was the quarterback himself who confirmed through a post on his social media that he will be a new member of Pittsburgh.

A few days ago reports came out stating that the quarterback interviewed with the franchise, and it will become official once NFL free agency begins, this coming March 14. This will be Wilson’s 13th season in the league and the Steelers will become his third team, following being a champion with Seattle in 2013 and failing during his time with the Broncos.

The quarterback remained with the Broncos for two seasons, in which he fell far short of meeting the expectations generated around his million-dollar contract, with records of 4-11 in his first year and 7-8 in the second.

His final balance was 6,594 yards, 42 touchdowns, 19 interceptions and 589 completions in two years.

According to NFL Network, the Steelers will only pay $1.2 million for Wilson, who arrives as a free agent, while Denver must settle a debt of $39 million for cutting the player. Now, Wilson will try to find a second wind in his career at 35 years old.
