Sánchez asks Feijóo to demand Ayuso’s resignation “even if it costs him his position like Casado” | Spain

This Wednesday morning, the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, repelled Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s attack on corruption in the Koldo case with the demand that the PP leader ask for the resignation of Isabel Díaz Ayuso as president of the Community of Madrid due to the alleged tax fraud committed by her partner, Alberto González. “I demand that your honor ask for the resignation of Mrs. Ayuso as president of the Community of Madrid, that she have courage and be brave, even if it costs her her position like Mr. Casado,” the President of the Executive told the head of the opposition during the Government control session in Congress, where the close relationship that Feijóo himself had for years with the drug trafficker and smuggler Marcial Dorado has come to light once more. The leader of the Popular Party has responded with the following warning to Sánchez: “You will not expect a less implacable opposition regarding corruption than the one you did five years ago to reach the presidency of the Government.”

Feijóo’s question to Sánchez wanted to delve into the wound of the Koldo case of alleged corruption in the purchase of masks during the pandemic. The leader of the PP insisted on placing the President of the Government at the center of the plot, a strategy that his parliamentarians followed in the following questions to the Government. “Your future is marked by corruption (…) your Government is being investigated and you are being investigated, give explanations voluntarily,” Feijóo challenged Sánchez, who spoke of the existence in the plot of Koldo García, an advisor. of José Luis Ábalos during his time in the Ministry of Transportation, of “weapons, dozens of cell phones, tips, photos that cannot be shown…”.

Sánchez’s response went to Feijóo’s jugular. After ensuring that both the PSOE and himself have acted in this matter, giving all kinds of explanations, he changed the direction of the control session: “I demand that your honor ask for the resignation of Mrs. Ayuso as president of the Community of Madrid, who Have courage, be brave, even if it costs you your position like Mr. [Pablo] Casado”, in reference to the dismissal of the previous leader of the PP, precisely for denouncing the commissions that Díaz Ayuso’s brother charged Madrid at the worst moment of the pandemic.

Feijóo put together his reply by describing Sánchez’s attitude as desperate, and with the confirmation that the opposition that the PP is going to exercise is going to be implacable. “The more you turn on the fan, the more you believe your desperation (…) You have made a very serious mistake (…) you there. I’m sure that at home they are not very happy with what he just said,” in a completely veiled reference to the PP campaign to implicate the president’s wife, Begoña Gómez, in the Koldo plot due to her meetings with businessmen linked to her for work reasons. Before time ran out, the leader of the PP gave this warning: “You will not expect a less implacable opposition regarding corruption than the one you did five years ago to become president of the Government.”

The president, following insisting on calling on Feijóo to ask Ayuso to resign, “to begin to be somewhat credible in his fight once morest corruption,” made a stop (“let’s talk regarding you and me,” he said, while he stood with his hands together and looking straight ahead) and attacked Feijóo’s history of friendships. “Let’s go exercise; Let’s suppose that I am a high official, that I am a high official, for example, of the Xunta de Galicia and I develop a relationship for five years with a drug lord in Galicia. Imagine that for five years I share a table and tablecloth with that drug dealer, I sleep, I traveled to the Canary Islands, Ibiza, Portugal and Andorra, where this drug dealer supposedly laundered francs from that time… you would ask for my resignation, but you don’t because you were the one. friendship with a drug lord in Galicia. You, with that, have risen to the top in your political party. In mine I wouldn’t have even made it to town councillor.”
