Asked regarding how she “found her voice”, Chimène Badi immediately affirmed that it was her mother who believed in her. “I think it was my mom who realized something was happening. From what she told me, I was humming before I even spoke. And then I was singing along time”, says the woman who never had children. Music played an important role in his life. “It was my escape, it was my outlet, but I didn’t know that, I found out later,” confides the singer who was judged a lot on her physique in her early days. Her mother pushed her a lot to sing. “And one day, she said to dad: ‘You know, you should listen to Chimène, I think there’s something happening’. And then I’m going to continue to grow, to sing,” she confides before adding that she locked herself in her room to “forget everything we experience when we are in college”.

In 2021, Chimène Badi explained in Jarry’s podcast, the Jarry Show, that she can no longer stand hearing regarding her physique rather than her talents. “I mostly sing, I have lots of interesting things to say. I’m funny, I’m super lively, I love life, and it’s true that it’s a shame to always reduce everything I can do to my physique,” she denounced. Often found too round, the singer has lost a lot of weight. “I lost 30 kilos, like a lot of average girls. That’s life, there are ups and there are downs. There are times when it’s a little more difficult, things happen” , she added. If she continues her physical transformation, she would like fans to focus on her songs instead.
