It’s been a tough few years for Dead to Me-actress Christina Applegate, who was diagnosed with the disease MS (Multiple Sclerosis) during the filming of the series’ third and final season.
“Reminded of it every day”
In August 2021, Applegate announced the news that she had been diagnosed with the autoimmune disease. Since then, she has only made a few appearances – among other things, she participated in this year’s Emmy gala, where she was met with a standing ovation.
In a new interview in Good Morning America tells Applegate how she sees her future with MS:
“I’m never going to wake up and say, ‘This is great,'” she tells reporter Robin Roberts. “I wake up and am reminded of that every day. So it won’t happen. But I might get to a point where I function a little better.”
Applegate also says that she is “managing” her new life by “not going anywhere”:
“I’m kind of living in hell. I don’t go out much so this is a bit hard on my system,” she says – but adds that the support she has received from the public since her diagnosis is “wonderful” and that she is “very grateful” for it.
