Actor Ken in the film Barbie, Ryan Gosling, 43, appeared in black Gucci while walking the red carpet at the 2024 Oscars.

Gosling is nominated for Best Supporting Actor and will perform his nominated song “I’m Just Ken.”

The actor walked the red carpet wearing a custom black Gucci suit with subtle metallic trim, a partially open black shirt, and bright pink socks as a tribute to the film.

Gosling posed with his partners for the evening: his mother Donna, his father Valerio, and his sister Mandi.

This isn’t the first time Gosling has made the Oscars a family event. In 2017, Mandi became his partner for the event when he was nominated for Best Actor for La La Land.

Barbie was nominated for several awards, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Original Song. America Ferrera was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the film.

The nominated song, which Gosling will perform on stage, was written by Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt. Gosling told Variety last month before learning he would perform that he was definitely up for the task, adding that the song was “anthemic.”

Gosling, who has two daughters with partner Eva Mendes, has been bringing all his Kenergy to red carpets all over the coast and overseas during his months-long press tour.

For the 2024 SAG Awards, Gosling wore a light blue Gucci suit with a white shirt open all the way down and no tie, which felt very Ken-like. She completed her look with a silver necklace and white sneakers.

Mendes has been Gosling’s biggest fan since the beginning. Last summer, he shared a photo on Instagram wearing a T-shirt featuring Gosling as Ken, with the caption, “Got that real big Kenergy. Coz girls are players too.”

The photo, posted ahead of the film’s release, drew comments from fans who hoped Mendes might walk the red carpet with his partner. The two have only ever attended one red carpet together, and that was in 2012. Mendes nicely shot down the idea.

“What a cool comment, thanks. But we don’t do things like that together,” he wrote in reply. (People/Z-3)
