Commission for Social Policy considers National Reading Plan – Jornal OPaís

The Committee for Social Policy of the Council of Ministers assessed, yesterday, Tuesday, the draft Presidential Decree that approves the National Reading Plan 2024-2027

The document aims to popularize reading among the population, as well as the universalization of access to the practice of reading, the training of reading mediators, institutional valorization of reading, as well as the increase of its symbolic value, the development of the economy of book and the creation of an Angolan literary corpus.

According to the Minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, the aforementioned plan contains the actions and goals to be achieved during the period in question, aiming to contribute positively to the process of implementing public policy measures to improve the quality of education, taking into account, in Likewise, the objectives of sustainable development.

In the field of culture, the meeting, chaired by the Minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote, assessed the draft Presidential Decree that creates the Manuel Rui Cultural Center, in the province of Huambo.

The institution is dedicated to collecting, preserving and disseminating the different values ​​of Angolan cultural heritage, as well as promoting the production of material goods and services of an educational nature.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Filipe Zau, said that the aforementioned center also aims to spread a taste for national culture, encouraging the participation of communities in vocational courses, seminars and lectures in the arts, sciences and regarding national and international historical figures.
