Former New York Islanders forward Josh Ho-Sang is back in North America, having signed a contract with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old forward played one game in the KHL with Ufa’s Salavat Yulayev last season, recording one assist. He last played in North America with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies during the 2021-22 season, amassing 16 goals and 35 points in 47 games.
Ho-Sang was selected 28th overall in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Islanders and debuted with the team during the 2016–17 season. He only appeared in 53 games over three seasons, recording seven goals and 24 points. Between 2016-17 and 2018-19, Ho-Sang shuttled between the NHL and AHL.
He left for Sweden during the 2020-21 season, playing nine games with two teams during his brief stay overseas before returning to North America to join the Marlies.
Ho-Sang played for the Canadian men’s Olympic team in 2022, collecting three points in five games. The Canadian team finished sixth at the Beijing Olympics.
