Oliver Bearman has revealed that he received a “good luck” message from Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel before taking part in the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix as a substitute for Ferrari. With Scuderia Ferrari’s full-time driver Carlos Sainz requiring surgery for appendicitis, the team’s reserve driver and FIA F2 racer Bearman was selected as Charles Leclerc’s partner from FP3.

Bearman, a two-time Aston Martin BRDC Young Driver Award finalist, narrowly missed out on qualifying for Q3, finishing 11th.
