“The expedition will take place aboard Space Perspective’s Neptune spacecraft (…) where six passengers will redefine gastronomy by enjoying the meal of a lifetime while observing the sunrise over the curve of our planet,” said in a press release the Alchemist, two Michelin stars.
This establishment is part of the new Danish gastronomic scene, non-existent two decades ago and now praised around the world for its inventiveness.
For 495,000 dollars (453,000 euros), the six tourists will embark for six hours in a pressurized space capsule, which will rise into the stratosphere, 30 km above sea level thanks to the SpaceBalloon, powered by hydrogen .
Rasmus Munk, 32 years old and by his own admission passionate regarding space, will be part of the trip.
He promised a menu inspired “by the role of space exploration over the last 60 years of human history, and the impact it has had on our society, both scientifically and philosophically. “.
The only restriction is that it will not be possible to flambé the food over a wood fire.
Many items will be prepared in the kitchen of the ship from which the capsule will take off, said the Alchemist, fifth best restaurant in the world in 2023 according to the guide. World’s Best 50 Restaurants.
