A Microsoft announced this Wednesday (13) that Copilot for Security, the company’s generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tool for the digital security sector, will be available globally on April 1, 2024.
The company stated that it is ready to make the tool available following an early access period with feedback from different sectors. Copilot for Security seeks to help those who work with security and IT in preventing digital threats.
The service uses large-scale data and threat intelligence, which includes more than 78 trillion security signals that are analyzed by Microsoft every day. The tool even recognizes large language models to guide users.
Another feature of Copilot for Security is the ability to reverse engineer malware scripts to find their weaknesses. Users can also access the service to create step-by-step methods for handling virus investigations.
Microsoft also plans to offer other services at the launch of Copilot for Security, generally available, including support for 25 languages, custom promptbooks that will allow users to type and save used text prompts.
Microsoft says that a survey of companies that used Copilot for Security during the early access program stated that, on average, users were able to handle common tasks 22% faster with the service.
Microsoft’s Copilot for Security pricing will use a model that will handle both the standalone Copilot service and the built-in editions. It will use a consumption-based model, with the company charging $4 per “unit of security computing.”
