New center in Sattledt: “Revival is off to a good start”

In June of the previous year, the municipal administration moved into its new building in the new town center, and the library, three playroom groups and the “Ziegelei” café are now also located there. The event hall is used diligently by clubs and organizations, and the market square has proven itself at various events.

Mayor Gerhard Huber (VP) sees the goal of giving the community a real center fulfilled: “We have brought the municipal facilities together in one place.” The feedback is very positive: “The revitalization of the town center has gotten off to a good start.”

In the first construction phase from 2020 to 2023, the community office with an event hall as well as a second building for the library, the three playroom groups and the café were built. Together with the church, they surround the newly designed market square with plants and seating. “You can just tell that people enjoy being on the pitch – this will certainly be even more noticeable in the summer,” says Kevin Gruber.

Guest garden planned

The restaurateur, who is on the community board for the FP, leased the restaurant and opened the “Ziegelei” café there in December. Six days a week – closed on Wednesday – there is breakfast, classic coffee house cuisine and a bar in the evening. “We are very satisfied, the crowds are even higher than our expectations,” says Gruber. The breakfast menu is particularly popular on weekends and also attracts guests from surrounding communities. “When it gets warmer, there will also be a guest garden. We have planned to start in April. That will certainly add to the atmosphere on the square,” says Gruber.

The work is not yet finished: a new underground car park with 48 parking spaces is currently being built next to the community center, and a park is being built above it. “From the current perspective, the garage will be completed towards the end of the year,” says Mayor Huber. The municipality expects costs of 2.8 million euros for the garage and 10.75 million euros for the town center.
