A budget envelope of approximately 12 million dirhams (MDH) has been allocated to the implementation of a partnership agreement for the tourist development of the city of Chefchaouen.
In this regard, the Provincial Council of Chefchaouen, meeting recently in extraordinary session, examined the only point on the agenda relating to the adoption of a partnership agreement for the tourist development of Chefchaouen, between the supervisory ministry, the Ministry of Culture and other regional, provincial and local partners.
This envelope is mobilized by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy (4 MDH), the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Communication (1 MDH), the Tangier Regional Council -Tétouan-Al Hoceima (4 MDH), the Provincial Council of Chefchaouen (1 MDH) and the urban commune of Chefchaouen (2 MDH).
This agreement concerns the rehabilitation and tourist development of the Outa El Hamam square, the rehabilitation and equipment of the tourist accommodation center, the rehabilitation and modernization of the ethnographic museum, as well as the development of an exhibition space. exhibition and sale of local craft products.
In addition, this agreement, which aims to establish the foundations for global and sustainable development, also aims to promote the development of the Rass El Maa water source, through the creation of an interpretation center for the source. and the history of Chefchaouen, as well as the establishment of signage and tourist circuits.
