For a Carnival with a particularly high attendance I visither industry is preparing focus in Patras, as the messages from bookings in the hospitality sector and in public transport are particularly encouraging for this year as well.

THE SUPPLIES

The industry professionals are preparing to welcome the people who are expected to flood Patras. Already last week, the suppliers of drinks and food have started to deliver their orders and the shops are filling their cellars and warehouses, to serve the Patrinos and the visitors.

The president of SKEANA Tasos Giatras he said to “Peloponnese”, that the latest estimates indicate that attendance at this year’s Patrinos Carnaval will surpass any previous one, as indications are of an increase in mobility compared to 2023, when the city recorded a record number of visitors. “In this context, the catering has been properly prepared, in order to welcome both the natives and the visitors who will flood the Achaean capital. We have the opportunity to advertise the quality of our products and services, expecting some of the visitors to choose the area and some of the following weekends, for a short stay and tour of our area. Let’s wish good strength to the colleagues and the workers of the catering establishments in view of the climax of the carnival events”.

THE PRICES
As far as the prices are concerned, they will obviously be adjusted to the market trends, that is, there will be mark-ups, which will be bigger in stores that also offer food.

The businessman George Kotopoulis, he said to “P”: “We are expecting a lot of people, but they will have fun on the streets, on the stairs and in the squares.” He keeps, however, a small basket, because he considers that the type of entertainment, as we knew it years ago, has definitely passed for the Carnival. Most visitors are aged 18-24, staying in student houses or friends’ houses, with a low budget due to their age. Also, this year we have more homes for short-term rentals than any other year. This means a party and a walk in the streets” added Giorgos Kotopoulis, who estimated that in terms of turnover, it will be a good three days for the focus, but not the Carnival as we knew it”.
