WASHINGTON, March 13, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — CGTN America & CCTV UN Release “Global Media Dialogue”: Why is 2024 the Year of ‘Spring in China’?

Immediately following the country’s annual political summits, China Media Group will host the Global Media Dialogue on Shared Prosperity and Opportunity in China: a timely and unique media event featuring keynote speakers, two expert panels and dignitaries at the University of Chicago.

Our dignitaries, experts and panelists will discuss the latest developments in the field of “Chinese-style modernization.” Three little words that signal great and growing potential for new productivity, international cooperation and shared prosperity.

The first panel discussion will include former U.S. Ambassador to China Max Baucus, former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Illinois Institute of Technology President Raj Echambadi. The focus is on China’s economic dynamism and how China’s modernization process has made the country a magnet for global business and investment opportunities.

The second panel discussion deals with current and potential areas of cooperation such as artificial intelligence, green energy and other industrial perspectives. The focus of this dialogue is better access to foreign investment and the Chinese capital markets.

Discussions will also explore sister cities such as Chicago and Shanghai, which continue to provide a bridge for global innovative companies. Joining the discussion on this topic are Samir Mayekar, former deputy mayor for economic development of Chicago, Mike Fassnacht, former marketing director of Chicago, and Pin Ni, president of Wanxiang America. On the agenda are important, not-so-important issues such as boosting tourism and increasing people-to-people exchanges as China relaxes visa requirements for international travelers.

Following the panel discussions, listeners and panel participants can exchange ideas in moderated question and answer sessions. The event is hosted by China Media Group and sponsored by the China General Chamber of Commerce in Chicago.
