A new era is dawning for the Minnesota Vikings. With Kirk Cousins traded to the Atlanta Falcons in free agency and the Vikings looking to release running back Alexander Mattison following he failed to fill Dalvin Cook’s big shoes, there’s now a new offensive duo in the country: Sam Darnold and Aaron Jones.
Darnold most recently played for the San Francisco 49ers and has a one-year contract as bridge quarterback. Aaron Jones, most recently released by division rival Green Bay, is also joining the Vikings for a season. According to Tom Pelissero, the running back will receive $7 million.
