Major works are planned between Lausanne and Vevey this coming weekend. The line will be completely cut, causing timetable changes and delays on March 16 and 17, CFF reminded this Tuesday.
As part of the modernization and expansion work at Lausanne station, the CFF is moving several tracks to the east of the station in order to adapt their geometry, we read in a press release. Several track and contact line maintenance projects will also be carried out between Lausanne and Vevey during the weekend.
Concerning regional traffic, RER trains are replaced by buses between Lausanne and Vevey as well as between Puidoux and Vevey. IR90 mainline trains are diverted through Palézieux. It will be necessary to take into account changes to timetables and extensions of travel times of around 30 minutes. CFF recommends that its customers check the timetables carefully before leaving.
