The 13th International Winner Jerusalem Marathon

On Friday 03/08/2024, the 13th Wiener Jerusalem International Marathon was held.
An all-time record number: regarding 40,000 people, of which regarding 15,000 runners from among IDF soldiers in reserve and regular, members of the security and rescue forces, and regarding 1,800 runners from abroad, ran on a breathtaking course and passed, among other things, the Knesset, along the walls of the Old City , the Sultan’s Pool, Mishkent Shananim, Mount Zion, the German Colony, Rehavia, the Governor’s Palace Promenade, Ammunition Hill, Saker Garden, the Mount of Scopus, the Mount of Olives and other sites.

Along with the many runners, the mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Leon, also participated this year, who ran with chest number 10 in the 5 km leg, together with his coach who was wounded in the fighting in the Gaza Strip, Itzik Weksler. At the end of the event, Leon said that “Since its inception, marathon Jerusalem has become one of the most experiential and professional sports events for every male and female sprinter in Israel and around the world. I am proud of the fact that we broke an all-time record in the number of people registering for the marathon and that we held it with great success, especially during this period, and even more proud that it was held as a sign of appreciation and salute to the IDF and the security and rescue forces. The winner of the Winner Jerusalem Marathon is: Malkamo Jember, 33 years old from Israel, in a time of 2:35:39. The second place came to Nega Makta, 36 years old from Israel, in a time of 2:41:33. Third place came to Yotam Kaplan, 31 years old from Israel, in a time of 2:43:38.

Today is International Women’s Day, and first place among the women was won by Naa Beckerman, 35 years old from Israel, with a time of 2:55:42. The second place was won by Elena Tolstykh, 40 years old from Russia, with a time of 2:58:22. Third place was won by Anna Prais, 48 ​​years old from Israel, with a time of 3:22:41.

The International Winner Jerusalem Marathon consisted of six stages: a full marathon race (42.195 km), a half marathon race (21.1 km), a 10 km race, a 5 km stage, a 1.7 km family race and the unique community stage for the Jerusalem Marathon.

First place in the full marathon division won $3,750, second place won $2,500 and third place won $1,250.

The Winner Jerusalem Marathon was managed by the Jerusalem Municipality, in cooperation with the Jerusalem Development Authority and with the support and assistance of the Ministry of Jerusalem and Heritage, the Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Ministry of Tourism, and under the primary sponsorship of Toto Winner.

The sports company “Sacconi” is a partner in the event, and also marketed the official Jerusalem Marathon shoes and the official race shirt.
