According to the professional, dependence has led to anxiety disorders, in many cases generating depression, insomnia and lack of concentration.

In children, he said, prolonged cell phone use can develop hyperactivity disorder and attention deficit, making them restless and impulsive, impeding their development and physical growth.

“When a child is connected to their cell phone for a long time, especially at night, a time reserved for rest and the consequent release of hormones, it affects their growth,” he said. She advised removing cell phones from minors at night to avoid losing sleep.

In turn, pedagogue Yuri Catchama highlighted the importance of “smartphones” in developing research and obtaining knowledge.
