Officialized in 1977 by the United Nations and in 1982 in France, the international day of struggle for women’s rights has its origins in the history of workers’ struggles and women’s demonstrations at the turn of the 20th century in North America. and in Europe.
It is a day of action, awareness and mobilization intended to promote women’s rights and equality between women and men.
The “All Equal” Plan presented on March 7, 2023 by the Government makes support for women who undertake a strong axis of State action.
In 2023, 43% of individual business creators are women. This share decreased by 2 points compared to the previous year. This decline is explained by the decline in creations in certain highly feminized activities such as “home sales”.
Women are the majority in “other household services” (75%), human health and social action (74%) and teaching (51%).
French entrepreneurs sometimes lack visibility and support in bringing their projects to fruition. In order to better support them in their efforts, it is necessary to publicize existing systems and the experiences of those who have embarked on the entrepreneurial adventure to inspire vocations.
It is in this context that events are organized on the occasion of March 8 on the theme of female entrepreneurship, both at the national level and at the departmental level.
On this occasion, Mr. Joël MATHURIN, prefect of Puy-de-Dôme will participate in several events organized in the department, on Friday March 8, 2024, as follows:
