Brandon McNulty, the Emirates Team rider, regained the yellow jersey in cold weather in the Paris-Nice cycling tour, following riding to victory in the final kilometers of stage 6 on the 198.2 km track from Sisteron to La Colle-sur-Loup. McNulty managed to sneak into a leading group of three riders, along with stage winner Matthij Jorgenson (Team Visma-Lab), and Matthias Skilmoz (Team Liddell-Trek), who led by more than a minute over the chasing group made up of the best riders. The group reached the finish line, with McNulty receiving the leader’s jersey before two crucial days to keep it.
“The race was strong,” McNulty said. “I knew there would be fast starts when the group lost a little bit of speed. After the last major climb, we are in a good position, but we still have a couple of tough days coming up, probably with bad weather conditions as well, so we have to work hard.” To maintain the lead.”
On the other hand, in the Tirreno-Adriatico race, Juan Ayuso and Isaac del Toro put in a strong performance, limiting their losses to the leading leader, Jonas Wingegaard (Visma Lab), who won stage 5 on the 144 km route from Torricella Sicura to Valle Castellana. Ayuso maintains second place, 54 seconds behind the Danish cyclist, and leads the young riders’ classification, while Del Toro occupies sixth place, achieving this by a difference of one minute and thirty-four seconds from the lead.
