Parahyangan Catholic UNIVERSITY (Unpar) Bandung together with the Central Agency
Statistics (BPS) West Java inaugurated the Statistics Corner at the Unpar Library.
The Unpar Statistics Corner is an implementation of the collaboration that Unpar has established with West Java BPS, since the signing of the MoU and MoA with the Faculty of Economics on 19 December 2022.
The development of the Statistics Corner is in accordance with Law Number 16 of 1997, concerning Statistics. BPS has established a Statistics Corner Development Plan with the aim of bringing BPS integrated statistical services (PST) closer to campus.
Its existence is also a medium for promoting statistics and increasing statistical literacy through the development of statistical science in higher education (PT).
Unpar Chancellor Prof Tri Basuki Joewono, Thursday (7/3) said that the presence of this Statistics Corner might answer existing problems.

“With this Statistics Corner, it is hoped that it will become a new habitus, method

“Through the Statistics Corner, students can easily search for quantitative data presented in statistical form. Apart from that, students can also enjoy various interesting services accompanied by statistical agents who are ready to help,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of West Java BPS, Marsudijono, stated that the Statistics Corner exists as a collaboration between BPS and Unpar, as a center for statistical services and promotions in HEIs, by carrying out the principles of collaboration, synergy and usefulness.
This collaboration, he continued, includes the development of statistical knowledge, commitment to developing statistical skills needed in the future. Apart from that, it also uses statistics more widely in the academic world and helps disseminate statistics to the public.
