Political observer Ray Rangkuti urged the faction leaders who support the right to inquiry to immediately meet and establish communication. He asked the factions in the DPR RI not to wait for each other.
Ray said that currently each faction in the DPR has not yet built trust in each of them. This is what makes the roll out of the right of inquiry stalled and we are still waiting for each other.
“Actually, for me now, if you read these 4 factions, PDIP, NasDem, PKB and PKS, have a strong desire to push for the right to inquiry. But they haven’t been able to unite. “Because there is still a kind of political gap which might be based on one logic, they started from two different partners,” said Ray to the media crew at the DPR RI Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (7/3).
“Yes, there is a question of trust, trust that has not been built. Because one of them still has doubts. If I move forward, the others will leave me behind. Therefore, there is trust that has not been built, so I pushed for it from the start. “If it’s difficult to meet at the general chairman level, if it’s difficult at the secretary general level, at least meet at the faction leadership,” he added.
Ray said that currently the public has high hopes for DPR members to use the right of inquiry to investigate various frauds in the 2024 elections. According to him, investigations through Bawaslu or the Constitutional Court will not be enough.
“Considering Bawaslu’s poor performance, there is no need for this now. On December 29 2023, I said this was the worst election in the history of our reform. “Apart from that, the various problems that I found, both related to the presidential election and legislative elections, which we have just gone through and then handed over to Bawaslu, I am confident that this will not be resolved,” he said.
Ray also gave an example regarding the case of alleged violations related to two fingers being held out from behind the presidential car where until now he does not know what the decision was. Ray said that the right to inquiry might be a solution and hope for investigating all violations, whether committed clearly or in a subtle way. (Dis/Z-7)
