The two cars crashed into each other when the 49-year-old driver wanted to turn left at an intersection while the emergency vehicle was traveling straight ahead in the bus lane.
The 91-year-old was thrown from the stretcher during the collision and ended up lying on the floor of the patient room, the police said.
The senior citizen was taken to the LKH Feldkirch. The other people involved in the accident remained uninjured.
