Pope Francis held the general audience on Wednesday, March 6, in St. Peter’s Square, and not inside the Paul VI hall, despite the cold morning in Rome, and once more He did not read the catechism that he had prepared, but rather a collaborator did because he stated that he still had a cold.

For more than a week, Francis has been suffering from a cold that has made him cancel some events and for which last Wednesday, February 28, following the general audience, he went to the Gemelli hospital on the Tiber Island, in the center of Rome, to some tests.

Although the pontiff normally resumed his agenda, He has not read his speeches because he stated that he gets tired when he has to do so, although he does pronounce his appeals.

At the end of November 2023, The pope suffered bronchitis for which he had to cancel some of the acts and celebrate the angelus in private and also be replaced by a collaborator to read his speeches.

To allow his recovery, the Argentine pontiff canceled the trip planned at the beginning of December to Dubai to participate in the Climate Summit.

But later he recovered completely and even on December 8 of that year he went to the Plaza de España to the traditional tribute to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception.

He mightn’t get into the popemobile

On Wednesday, March 6, several parishioners worried regarding the health of Pope Francis because he continues to have mobility problems.

A video that was spread on social networks shows the moment when Pope Francis might not get into the popemobile on his own.

The images captured the moments in which Pope Francis finds it difficult to climb the transport steps in St. Peter’s Square. However, he chose to greet parishioners from his wheelchair.

The Vatican confirmed the presence of Pope Francis in all the events of Holy Week, from Palm Sunday, March 24 to March 31, with the Mass of Resurrection.
