(Keystone-ATS) Classical music is at the center of a new festival from April 17 to 19 in Morges (VD). The event features a piano recital, an opera evening and a concert. A photo exhibition completes the program.

The Casino, the Hôtel Petit-Manoir and the Hôtel Mont-Blanc au Lac have joined forces to create the International Classical and Lyrical Festival. The new event promises a diverse program, mixing emblematic works and contemporary compositions, Morges Région Tourisme announced in a press release on Thursday.

On the first evening, the Casino will welcome pianist Kamil Osmanov in recital for a program around Scarlatti, Chopin and Doryan-Emmanuel Rappaz. Maja Fluri and Maria Prifti, both soprano, will sing the next day at the Petit-Manoir a program bringing together Bellini, Rossini, Puccini and Gounod, among others.

Finally, on the last evening, the Hôtel du Mont-Blanc au Lac will host violinist Anna Orlik, cellist Constantin Macherel and their Léman Virtuosi ensemble for Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons”. Dinners will be available on site before each concert.

At the same time, an exhibition presents the works of visual artist and photographer Christy Lee Rogers. This specialist in underwater photography depicts tangled bodies, amid explosions of color.
