FC Twente Women started the match well. The seven thousand supporters in De Grolsch Veste saw in the opening phase that the first danger came from Renate Jansen. FC Twente was threatening in the first part before half time, but was unable to score. The home team had to be vigilant once morest the outbreaks of Ajax, which took the lead halfway through the first half. Leuchter took advantage of a deep ball from the back and scored (0-1). Before half time, Ajax doubled its lead via Noordam (0-2).
After the break, FC Twente went on the hunt for the tying goal, but the attacks failed towards the Amsterdam goal. With just under twenty minutes left on the clock, Ajax even made it 0-3. In the final phase, FC Twente was unable to get back into the match.
