Porsche’s finance director was banned from using a chalet in Tyrol

Meschke is only allowed to live in his property if he has a main residence in the Wilden Kaiser community, reported “Bild am Sonntag”. The mayor had already issued a corresponding decision in July 2023, which has now been confirmed by the Tyrolean State Administrative Court.

Meschke had stated that his main residence was in the Stanglwirt community of Going. Mainly because he conducts real estate transactions in the Kitzbühel area that would require his regular presence. The fact that his three children go to school in Germany doesn’t matter since he doesn’t spend much time with his family. The Porsche board explained to the German newspaper: “My first and tax-relevant main residence was and always is in Germany. Since I used the house in Austria as a second workplace and worked there a lot and often, I left Austria following legal advice that I had another main residence there.”

House bought for 1.5 million euros

The State Administrative Court, as a second instance, did not share this opinion and rather saw Meschke’s leisure residence as inadmissible. The path to the Constitutional Court is now open to him, and an extraordinary appeal to the Administrative Court is also still possible.

According to “Bild am Sonntag”, Meschke bought the house in 2014 for 1.5 million euros. At that time it was still under construction and it was stipulated that it might only be used as a main residence and not as a leisure residence. In July 2023, following a complaint from a neighbor, the mayor’s decision was issued, once morest which the Stuttgart resident had lodged a complaint. In mid-January, the case was heard at the Tyrolean State Administrative Court in Innsbruck and the ban on use was confirmed.
