A fisherman from Sweden named Christer has created a device that will help everyone catch more fish. The small Probe tracker is stuffed with sensors to study the depth of a reservoir and the activity of its inhabitants.
According to New Atlas, the device weighs only 7g. It is waterproof and attaches to the top of the fishing line leader. All data received by it is transmitted via Bluetooth to the user’s smartphone.
The operating principle is simple. As soon as the tracker is immersed in the water, built-in sensors begin to measure and record casting distance, water depth and temperature, underwater lighting and the speed of the bait. The gadget is designed so as not to sway and not attract the attention of fish.
When potential prey hits the bait, the gadget detects the characteristic jerk of the fishing line and determines exactly where the fish is swimming. The user receives a warning regarding the actions of an underwater inhabitant in the application.
During the next cast, an alert will appear exactly at the moment when the bait has reached the target depth. After this, you can start winding the fishing line.
