Los Instagram direct messages (DMs) are getting several new features. First, editing, which can be done up to 15 minutes following sending a message. To edit a message, simply long-press on it and then choose “edit” from the drop-down menu.

Speaking of DMs, you can now turn reading notifications on or off, either for all chats or specific chats. You can do this in your account settings. These settings can be changed at any time, but please note that read notifications are not available for chats with end-to-end encryption.

You can too pin your favorite chats to the top of your message inbox, up to three of them. This way, you don’t need to keep scrolling to find your best friends or family members (or your favorite groups). To pin a chat, swipe left or long-press on it, then tap “pin.” Naturally, any thread can be unpinned at any time.

Instagram now gives you the ability to Save your favorite stickers to DMs for easy access later, pressing and holding any sticker you want to save. Then it will be waiting for you at the top of the stickers section. Plus, now you can reply to any message with stickers, GIFs, videos, photos, and voice messages.
