Arabic Language Competition Winners Honored in Sharjah by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi

Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, Head of the Department of Statistics and Community Development, honored the winners of the Poetry, Story and Novel Competition for the Gulf States, in its first edition organized by the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States.

This came during the closing ceremony of the competition, which was held yesterday at the center.

Dr. Issa Saleh Al-Hammadi, Director of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States, delivered a speech at the ceremony in which he expressed his happiness at the keenness of the member states of the Arab Education Bureau for the Gulf States to participate in the poetry, story and novel competition, which is hosted by Sharjah, and which revealed promising and distinguished talents in the field of education. He said: “The competition came within the center’s programs to emphasize the importance of focusing on serving the Arabic language and uncovering talented and creative people in it,” noting that 5 Gulf countries participated in it, with a total of 14 male and female students, 6 of whom won gold medals, 6 won silver medals, and 2 received two bronze medals.

Dr. Al Hammadi extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, for the great interest His Highness gives to the Arabic language.

He also thanked and appreciated the ministries of education and heads of delegations of Gulf countries for their efforts in preparing and training students to raise the spirit of competition, which had a profound impact on the level of students’ performance in the competition.

Manal Qazzan delivered a speech to the Gulf delegations participating in the competition, in which she praised the UAE’s efforts to empower the Arabic language in all institutions, pointing out that the competition aims primarily to refine students’ linguistic experiences and unleash their literary talents in the fields of poetry and prose.

She said: “The Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States was keen to establish meaningful reading and literary writing in young people, and to make them a culture, behavior, and way of life, which is confirmed by this literary event that encourages students to read seriously and write meaningful literary writing.”

She added: “Here is another pause filled with appreciation, respect and admiration, which we extend with fragrant affection to the capital of Arab and Islamic culture… a ray of creativity and distinction, because we stand before an exceptional human political, intellectual and literary stature. He is the owner of unique thought and different cultural inspiration, and the owner of past determination and bright achievements, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, was keen for the Arabic language to be a beacon and a beacon, guiding by its light those walking on the paths of excellence. The fruit of His Highness’s efforts in this field was this educational center that embraces the Arabic language and seeks to empower it and take pride in it.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi honored the scientific committee of the competition, which included Professor Dr. Muhammad Hassan Al Morsi, member of the Arabic Language Academy in Cairo, Dr. Muhammad Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, and Professor Dr. Farid Abdel Zaher Saeed, The former Dean of the Faculty of Al-Alsun and Dar Al-Ulum at Aswan University, as well as the Ministries of Education in the member states of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States.
