During the morning on Thursday, no ICA store in the country could accept card payments. Instead, you had to use cash, Swish or pay via their app.

The reason behind the problem was an internal problem in the payment systems at ICA as a result of an extra day in February, leap day.
– It was lucky that we have an ATM outside here, otherwise I don’t know how it would have worked out. The whole shop had stood still, says shop assistant Linnea Andersson.
At the store in Tenhult, card payment was up and running again at eleven o’clock.
