On Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 6:00 p.m., at the Spiritual Center of the Holy Church of Agios Georgios Neo Psychikos (Chrysostomou Smyrni 22), the presentation of the book “Nigerias Alexandrou Parakatatheki” by Panagiotis Ant. Andriopoulos, which is a version of I. Naos.
The book is dedicated to the pioneering theological thought of the blessed Metropolitan of Nigeria, Mr. Alexandros Gianniris (1960-2023), who served as a cleric and bishop for thirty-five years in the Second Throne Patriarchate of Orthodoxy, the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa.
Foreword by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Cameroon Mr. Grigorios, who contributed significantly to the publication, while the “editor’s note” is signed by the head of the I. Church of Agios Georgios N. Psychikos, archim. Michael Stathakis.
The book includes four interviews granted by the Nigerian Alexander to the theologian Panagiotis Andriopoulos, over a period of twenty-two years (2000-2022), and with topics such as: The mission in Africa in the 21st century, the Holy and Great Synod of Orthodoxy, the entry of Church of Russia under the canonical jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Alexandria.
The book also includes: a now historic letter from Alexander of Nigeria to Agathangelos in Odessa (of the Moscow Patriarchate) and – as an epitome – three verses by the poet Panagiotis Kapodistrias, dedicated to the memory of the blessed hierarch.
