Twelve new buildings in the Burkli fields, in Chambrelien, each housing three apartments. Imagine: if the project were to see the light of day, that would mean thirty-six apartments in total, and therefore a potential of nearly 150 new residents. For the commune of Rochefort, with some 1,300 inhabitants, this real estate project would represent an increase in the population of 10%.
However, the Municipal Council is not worried regarding the scale of the project. “The potential increase generated by this project – like others – is integrated into the expected demographic development,” writes the Municipal Council. He says he takes into account the construction potential of the town and other future projects. A credit for improving infrastructure in this sector had also already been voted by the General Council, so there is no need to worry regarding roads and pipes. No worries regarding the capacity of the schools either: in terms of surface area, the executive specifies that a class might be set up quickly in the Collège de Rochefort which currently includes 4 classes for a total of 80 students. Welcoming new residents “is always pleasing,” adds the Municipality. They would be integrated “according to opportunities with a local and dynamic life”. The executive adds that “demographic development as planned” appears to him to be controllable.
The apartments will be for sale. “We do not yet have a price range,” specifies the Michel Wolf office. “In any case, we want to keep prices affordable to remain attractive. » Construction costs are estimated at 20 million francs. The company nevertheless specifies that the budget is still expected to evolve. Some aspects had not been calculated, such as the bicycle covers on each side of the buildings, or the details of the photovoltaic installation.
